The Power of TV
There will shortly be some pictures made available from the Arché/CSMN graduate conference that we just hosted in St Andrews, but while I fight my deadlines and so on, here's a little Scandinavian announcement. We all know that although philosophy was "the rock'n'roll of the 90's" in Scandinavia, it was never big enough for prime time TV. All that is about to change.
Danish Professor Vincent F. Hendricks is anchoring his own TV show on philosophy, "The Power of Mind", to be aired nationwide in Denmark from spring 2008. The 25 min shows will guide the viewer through major fields in philosophy, with a new guest speaker for each topic.
I've been arguing for Philosphy department reality shows for years, but I guess this is the next best thing.
